Framing with Friends

There's no better way to spend your vacation, then to come and help us frame our house. At least, that's what we did when Dominic & Amanda came to visit. Thanks for your help!!

This shows the walls up around the garage. Here, Dominic is nailing the wall to the concrete with the Hilti gun. Amanda also fired the gun, but it was captured on Dominic's camera and I don't have the picture yet (sorry, Amanda).

Dominic is laying out a wall for the garage.

Adam got some friends from church to help raise the garage door header on Sunday. Thanks guys!

Adam's dad and brother helped us out yesterday with the top plate and cripples above the garage.

Meanwhile, I layed out some walls for the storage closet off the garage.

Here is where the walls I did are going. The storage closet backs up to the stairwell.

Adam and I put up the last exterior wall - YAY!

Brian is sleeping on the job . . .

Check me out with the nail gun!

So, that's our latest progress. We've been rained out a couple days this week, so that's been slowing us down. We were able to work less this past weekend and enjoyed some fun with Dominic & Amanda, we even went to the beach! But, it's back to work for us. We are close to finishing the first floor walls, so hopefully we can get that wrapped up soon and put on the floor trusses.

We are still working on our temporary power. Adam got the pole and wires installed and it passed the inspection. Now, we're waiting on JEA to come and hook it up for us. We hope to have our own power soon!
