Walls, Walls, Walls

We're still building walls . . . but, we're nearly completed with the first floor walls. We have been framing for a month now, so I guess we're making good time. Here are some pictures from last week:

This is our WORKING temporary power pole. We FINALLY got power to it on Friday. There was all sorts of confusion between the building department and JEA, but we were able to get it worked out and now we don't need to use our neighbor's power - YAY!!

Here are the walls around the storage closet in the garage and the stairwell.

We built more walls this weekend, but those pictures are on Adam's camera. I'll post them later this week. We have completed the walls around the master bedroom, laundry, bench seat, and toilet room. There were some tricky walls here, because several of them were at 45-degree angles. But, we managed to make it work. We still need to finish the master closet, linen closet, and header between the foyer and living room. Then, we will add double top plates on all the walls, fix a few mistakes, and plumb & align everything. Then, we'll be able to place the floor trusses - hopefully we'll be ready to do that this weekend.

We are currently planning on being complete and being able to move in by Thanksgiving. I think this is possible, as we will start subbing out more of the work after we finish the framing. There's still a lot to do, but we've made a ton of progress!
